“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

Friends, there are difficulties in life that overwhelm the strongest of people, fears that gnaw at the stoutest of human hearts, and young men who grow faint and weary. We  stumble and fall because we rely on our own, inner strength and human resources. These
are not sufficient shield in the storms of life. Only power from above is sufficient to sustain us. Only God’s protective hand can shelter us from the storms of life and not our own limited, human abilities.

Isaiah gives us hope to battle through the storms.  He  reminds us that those who trust in the Lord can achieve spiritual flight comparable to the lofty, soaring arc of the eagle.

It is inevitable that on occasion we will feel the weariness of life weighing us down. If you find yourself in that place today, ask the Lord to renew your spiritual strength. Whatever stands in your path, God can give you the strength to face it and rise above it. This week maybe filled with challenges, remember that Jesus is the source of your strength. Claiming His promises is empowering and a wonderful reminder to trust in Him!

PRAYER:

Loving Father I know that my strength can only be found in Christ. Help me to trust only in the power that I can only receive from You.  I pray that I may truly rise above all the difficulties of life, looking unto You, who is my only source of strength and my only means of refreshment. In His name I pray, AMEN.
