“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Everything in life we encounter whether good, bad or indifferent, we ought to be thankful like today’s Bible verse encourages us to do.
God wouldn’t tell us to do something that we couldn’t do. So is it possible to be thankful in all circumstances? Ofcourse, it is! But first we must come to understand that God is directing our circumstances for our good and most importantly for His glory. When we are able to see His hand of grace, direction and mercy, our hearts will be filled with gratefulness.
God’s grace is so amazing in that He endows us with things we are not even worthy of. His heart extends unto us His blessings. Unfortunately, many times we do not take time to even thank Him for giving us so much of His goodness.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving, I would like to encourage you to cultivate an attitude of gratitude. Start by finding one small thing you can thank God for. Maybe it’s the fact that you didn’t have to go hungry at breakfast. Or perhaps simply the fact that you woke up in the morning. There’s power in finding a small thing to thank God for.
As you focus on that small thing, others will come to your mind. The more you focus on the things in your life that you can be thankful for, the more thankful you’ll become.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father help me to be grateful in all circumstances in life. Help me to cultivate an attitude of gratitude daily. Thank You for Your many blessings you bestow upon me. In Jesus’ precious name I pray…AMEN!
