“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23
Did you know that e<span;>very sin starts in your heart? Yes indeed friends our heart determines our lives. Your character, your speech reflects your heart. Proverbs 4:23 is one of the most important proverbs, as it is an intense and urgent plea to guard our hearts about all else, for the heart is the source and well-spring of life, the heart is the repository for life – the treasury for truth – the warehouse of wisdom.
As the Lord searches our hearts will He find it pure? Can He call us “men and women after His own heart” as He described David? (Acts 13:22) I encourage you to examine your hearts today; and as David kept his heart, you can keep and perfect your heart as well. David was careful and faithful to examine himself, to confess his sins, to pray, to delight in God’s words, to choose only godly friends, to give thanks and sing praises to God. These heart exercises will keep your heart noble and righteous, and keeping it like this will bring God’s favor.
Our life goal should be to thrive like David to become men and women after God’s own heart. May we never forget this proverb and with God’s help and strength, keep our hearts diligently.
PRAYER:
Heavenly and Loving Father, I want you to Guard my heart above all things. Search my heart and my mind and guide me into the path of righteousness if there is any wickedness found in me. May I also become a man/a woman after Your own heart. I need you and I love you in Jesus’s Precious name I pray..AMEN
