Sometimes delays and detours are where God develops our faith the most!
“Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens” Psalm 68:19
I have been craving banana nut muffins for weeks. My sister and I decided this morning we would visit our local bakery and get some freshly baked ones. How excited I was, at the thought of enjoying one of these mouth watering treats for breakfast. Hurriedly, I opened the container only to discover 6 blueberry muffins instead. Oh how disappointed I was when I realized that my plan of having banana nut muffins for breakfast was thwarted.
Plans are funny things. Most of the time, when we make them, we aren’t really the ones who control the outcomes. Sure, we can do our best to try and make them happen, but so much of our world and our lives are dictated by things outside of our control. Many of us have to deal with impossibly difficult situations that aren’t part of our plan. Though some of us are never faced with such dramatic decisions, we all have things that didn’t work out the way they were “supposed” to.
Friends, know that life happens and plans change. Don’t be discouraged because God is still there. When life doesn’t always go as you plan, this becomes a perfect opportunity to trust in the Lord and His roadmap for your lives. When we rely on Him, not our own abilities – things that weren’t supposed to happen, actually turn out all right; such as my breakfast muffins. Let’s just say that blueberry muffins are now my new favorite. Remember if things don’t go as you planned, as long as God is with us – it’s all good.
How do you cope when your plans don’t work the way you wanted them to? Be encouraged that when our plans don’t allow second chances; God does!
PRAYER:
Loving Father, help me to trust in your plan for my life. Show me Your perspective through Your eyes. Help me to know that You have a greater plan for my life. Help me to remember You are the only one who’s right beside me as I crawl through the fires of life. I need You and I love You..in Jesus’s precious name I pray..AMEN
